Try out Anthropic Console for Prompt Engineering
Anthropic has released a new console tool that will help cut down your prompt engineering work time by >90%!
I wrote previously about some of the basics of Prompt Engineering, but the reality is that it remains to be a tricky process. One that requires a lot of creativity and experimentation. Honestly, a lot of the times, I ask ChatGPT or Claude to write a prompt for me and am always surprised by the details that I would have never thought of. After all, I’m a software engineer - prompting a computer in natural language is not something we’re used to working with.
This is why I was excited to see this Tweet and video from Head of Claude Relations @alexalbert__. In addition to Anthropic’s amazing interactive Prompt Engineering spreadsheet, they have created a tool in the Anthropic Console to easily test out different prompts. Check out the video of how to use it in this tweet.
One of the main context switches we have to do when working with AI is becoming a lot more scientific about our process while knowing that we cannot get the same output every single time! It’s not just calling an API anymore and getting the expected results. We have to really experiment with different tools using some kind of evaluation methodology.
Not only does this video walk you through Anthropic’s new prompt generator helper tool, it really shows the steps and logic of how to work with AI in general.
